Celebrating Design this Christmas
Celebrating Design Artisan Market is becoming a must-do on the Blue Mountains pre-Christmas calendar. If you are looking for gifts that will surprise and delight, this is an ideal opportunity. With over thirty artisans under the one roof, Celebrating Design has a gorgeous range of handcrafted gifts. Shoppers can browse at leisure looking at handcrafted jewellery, silks, scents, ceramics, hats, bags and more.
The event invites a range of talented and skilled craftspeople from the local area and beyond. ‘It's with a great sense of pride that we promote artisans and their work," said Celebrating Design Committee member, Rhyan Andrews. "When people buy direct from the artisans and designers, they're not just ticking off their Christmas list, they are supporting the vibrant arts culture in our community and the local economy.'
It's all happening on Saturday 14th November 9 – 4.00 pm in the Springwood High School Hall, (Grose Rd, Faulconbridge). It's a pleasurable way to ease into Christmas with the opportunity to buy locally, chat to the artisans and enjoy Devonshire Teas and entertainment. Gold coin donation at the door with funds raised going towards technology resources for Springwood High students.
Celebrating Design grew out of the highly successful Springwood ART SHOW which the school P & C has hosted for over 39 years. The artisan work deserved to be showcased in its own event and so Celebrating Design was born. For more information, email springwoodartshow@gmail.com or look for us our facebook page.
Many popular artisans are back, such as Satch with their leather bags, purses and wallets, Needle Vs Threads with textile bags. Where else can you see eight or nine handcrafted jewellery makers under the one roof? Choose from copper or silver, Swarovski crystal, gemstones, glass, mother of pearl, resin or butterfly wings and more. Enjoy a colourful and pleasant way to ease into Christmas.
