Individual highlights include Charlotte Hitchcock who received four Band 6s and two Band 5s; Tahlia Curley who received four Band 6s and one Band 5; Georgia Marks who received three Band 6s and two Band 5s as well as Ella Howie and Morgaine Sharpe who each received two Band 6s and four Band 5s.
Outstanding ATAR scores were achieved by Charlotte Hitchcock 97.9; Tahlia Curley 97.8; Georgia Marks 95.8; Hayden Fisher 90.5; and Ella Howie 90.3. The school had a host of students achieve 85 or more, including Michael Witherow, Caitlin Stratford
The school received a total of 122 Band 5 and 6 results, encompassing the achievements of 66 students across all of the HSC subjects taught at the School.
The school’s 3+3 Compacted Curriculum model for HSC delivery means the top and distinguished achievers may have been completing their first or their second year of HSC exams. For their first year of HSC studies, outstanding results were achieved by Miya Chesterman who achieved three Band 6s along with Emily Pickering, McKenna Dimmock
Deputy principal, Todd Shepherd, said “that in addition to seeing the students everyday under the 3+3 structure, the teaching staff of Springwood High School worked back late, gave up weekends to run tutorials and workshops and worked through half of their holidays in July and October in order to provide advice, support and opportunities for students’ to consolidate their learning, in preparation for the HSC”.
