Dear parents, carers and students,
Many of you would have heard the reports yesterday regarding the updated roadmap for the planned return of students to school. A summary of the change is that our senior students will return on Monday October 18 (as per their timetable on Google Classroom), and our junior students will now return on Monday October 25.
I have previously mentioned that the return to school roadmap does not fit easily with our Springwood High School CSC model. Regardless, we have a developed a model that I believe will work extremely well for our school community.
When our junior students return, they will initially return to their 2021 classes and timetable. This will give teachers a great opportunity to reintroduce key concepts and learning before we start the new academic year on Monday November 8. This will also allow our school to induct students regarding COVID safe procedures to keep us all as safe as possible.
I emailed a brief return to school survey yesterday. It would be greatly appreciated (and very helpful for us) if you could find a moment to complete this survey.
The NSW DoE has updated their information regarding the updated return to school roadmap. The link can be found here.
In the next few weeks, I will provide an overview of events and procedures for the remainder of the term. I'm sure that you appreciate that my advice can change significantly over the course of a week, so I will ensure that I provide the latest news as soon as possible. In the meantime, our Springwood High School staff wish you and your families all the best.
Kind regards,
Stuart Harvie
Principal (Rel.)
